Gift Options- Group Gifts by Scenario

For more straightforward plans, you can now choose to have your will generate gifts grouped by scenario. 

For example, where the spouse is the sole beneficiary of all gifts (including any Initial Gifts), and you select to group gifts "By Scenario", the Will:

1. Lists all the gifts in the Surviving Spouse Scenario, including personal effects, initial gifts and residue gifts, in one section under the heading "If [my spouse] survives";
2. Then creates an "Alternate Distribution" section and list all gifts (personal effects, initial gifts and residue gifts) that appear in the next scenario, under that heading etc.

If set to "Default" gifts will be grouped by type of gift as it has always done - all Personal Effects for all scenarios in one section, all Initial Gifts for all scenarios in another section, all the residue gifts in another section. 

Your choice can be selected as your firm preference or you can choose it for any particular client.  

You can make your selection in the Document Options for any of the Wills.   Look for "Gift options" and then "Gift Grouping".  

Note: for Multiple Wills, cash legacies will be repeated in the Secondary Will, but with the condition that the gift should only be paid to the extent it was not paid pursuant to the Primary because of abatement.

Note: If the spouse is not the sole beneficiary of all gifts in the Surviving Spouse Scenario, even if you choose "By Scenario" for Gift Grouping, it will still use the "Default" layout.
