What are the different options for pronoun naming customization?
When referring to a group of beneficiaries or appointees in the will, you now have the option to choose which pronouns you would like to use.
If you prefer to use the Always Gender Neutral option, the language will always use "they" when referring to the group members, regardless of the genders of the individuals in the group. If you prefer to use a mixed gender option, the language will always use "he" if it is a group of all males or "she" if it is a group of all females.
If the group is mixed (males and females), the Mixed Genders (He or She) option will use "he or she", whereas the Mixed Genders (They) option will use a gender neutral option "they".
Refer to the chart below for further clarification.
Class/Mixed | All Male | All Female | |
Always Gender Neutral | THEY | THEY | THEY |
Mixed Genders (He or She) | HE OR SHE | HE | SHE |
Mixed Genders (They) | THEY | HE | SHE |
How do I customize the pronoun naming options?
- Navigate to the Documents tab and click on the document type you would like to customize (ex. Single Will).
- Scroll down to the "Name options" section found under the main document settings.
- Click on the Pronoun field to bring up the dropdown list of options and select the option you would like to use (ex. Mixed Genders - He/She).
