How do I sync a scenario from one spouse's profile to the other?
If you are dealing with a spouse client file and wish to copy the planning details from a scenario into the other spouse's profile, you can do so by using the spouse sync button. Will will help you create mirror wills.
- First, ensure both spouses have been added as separate clients and linked together with the "spouse client" field.
- Enter into one spouse's profile and navigate to the "Scenarios" tab.
- Choose a Scenario and create a plan by filling out the Joint/Designated Assets, Initial Gifts and Balance of Estate Sections.
- To copy the plan you have created for the scenario over to the other spouse, click the spouse sync button (the name of the other spouse with arrows) in the top right corner. This will copy over any assets that are joint between the two spouses as well as the residue breakdown.
Note: The spouse sync button will not copy over solely owned assets (as they are not the other spouse's assets to give away). Usually the system sees the General Personal Effects as a solely owned asset, so you will need to gift them for the first spouse, click the spouse sync button and then switch over to the other spouse's profile and gift their general personal effects separately.
