When should I use a hotchpot?

If your client has made any loans to beneficiaries that they do not wish to forgive, and instead want that amount to come out of that individual's share of the estate, a hotchpot can be used.

How do I create a hotchpot?

1. Choose a scenario and create a gift, either in the Initial Gift or Balance of Estate Section.
2. Scroll down to Conditions, and change the type to Deduct prior advances.
3. Enter a value in the Current amount field.
